International Technical Support Focus - Addams Family in Brazil

- First International Production of The Addams Family Opens in Brazil

As the Broadway musical The Addams Family made its first international debut at Teatro Abril in Sao Paulo this spring, Orbital was engaged to provide technical support and the highly complex Meyer LCS Matrix3 and Cue Console audio show control solution, which form the central component of the sound system.

With only a handful of sound technicians worldwide sufficiently well-versed in the sophisticated LCS system, Orbital was awarded the contract on the basis of its ability to provide world-class technical support across timezones, with technical director Bill Addison's 12 years of experience with LCS giving the production the security they needed.

LCS is a network-based digital audio processing and distribution platform that provides an entire multichannel audio environment incorporating all I/O, signal processing, matrix mixing, routing, and loudspeaker management in a fully networked infrastructure with the flexibility to meet countless application-specific needs, while seamlessly accommodating growth. LCS also accommodates Wildtracs multi channel audio playback and V-Ras acoustic room enhancement - all within the modular environment. On the Addams Family, this is augmented by Cue Console fader control panels.

The Matrix3 is popular with many theatrical productions, but requires advanced technical skills to ensure its correct installation and operation. Orbital will be providing the complete Matrix 3 system for the production.
