Orbital lead in delivering audio innovation, designing with Soundscape

Immersive Sound for new shows.

Orbital Sound are one of the pioneering companies worldwide to embrace the new Soundscape system from d&b audiotechnik, further embellishing their position as a world leader in providing class-leading audio solutions. Whilst having delivered many systems with 'Immersive Sound' for previous productions and corporate events, the arrival of Soundscape integrates into Orbital's sound design ethos of harnessing new technology to produce results that modern audiences now come to expect, and deserve, as the new 'norm'.

Orbital MD Chris Headlam comments 'We think audiences deserve to hear in 3D what they've come to expect from their home cinemas with surround sound and a big screen at home. In a technical cohesive manner Soundscape gives us something very powerful which is very easy to manipulate and use and easily unleashes 3D creativity to our shows.'

Orbital's Olly Steel is designing the new European production of the Gipsy Kings Musical - Zorro, due to open in Moscow in August, and together with talented sound designer Chris Whybrow, creating Trioperas, the spectacular triple opera show opening at The Peacock Theatre in London in June, both using Soundscape. Both systems utilise Audinate Dante networking with Soundscape's central DS100 Signal Engine, running the latest version of QLab software that combines powerful audio, video and lighting control. All system control and redundancy is handled by award winning Nemesis-Audio products that are at the heart of Orbital's powerful technical arsenal.
