Orbital Take Delivery Of First UK d&b audiotechnik Q Series Speakers

It has indeed been a long and very hot summer particularly for d&b's new Q-Series loudspeakers, on many sweltering days and balmy evenings they have been seeing the sights during an extensive field test programme. As the days get shorter in the northern hemisphere the great unveiling has arrived: the acknowledgement that there really is a new d&b loudspeaker Series, and one that is already meeting with
far-flung critical acclaim.

The new Q-Series makes full use of many long established d&b fixations: precise directivity control, even with single Q-Series loudspeakers this is maintained down to very low frequencies, the prerequisite for flexibility and scalability of application is given it's due respect and the power to weight and size ratios, cherished obsessions, reach new levels.

From it's conception, the Q-Series would not be 'just another line array', rather a Series with the d&b ethos, real tools: easy to use systems that deliver performance allowing users to focus fully on their sound task.

Orbital have deployed Q1-speakers as the FOH system on the new Rod Stewart musical, Tonight's The Night (with Q7's for stage fold back), as well as supplying freelance sound designer Mick Potter with Q1's for the UK National tour of Scrooge.

Both shows use the new d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifier and Orbital were even lucky enough to secure a third delivery of Q1 / Q7 / QSUB / D12's for evaluation and demonstration purposes.
