Orbital Upgrade PM1Ds to Version 2.02 Software

Orbital Sound became the first European users of Version 2.02 software when they started to convert their fleet of consoles during August 2005.

Simply by being launched in 2000, the Yamaha Digital Audio Mixing System PM1D completely and comprehensively changed the world's idea of what an "ideal" large-size console should be. In addition to its groundbreaking inclusion of all-digital-processing, intuitive operation, and total recall functions, it also offered overwhelming programmability, unprecedented sound quality, excellent portability and installation, redundancy for reliability, and extreme cost-effectiveness.

The PM1D has quickly become the "first choice" model for professionals, be it for concerts in large arenas or stadiums, for performances in renowned concert halls and theaters, or for use by global broadcasters, each continues to perform beyond expectations, thus earning the strong trust of professional.

Orbital Sound became the first European users of Version 2 software when they started to convert their fleet of consoles during August 2005. The first Version 2 console shipped to veteran PM1D sound designer Whizz for his use in Berlin on a major commercial event. That was quickly followed by consoles destined to the new UK tour of "Saturday Night Fever" and "The Blue Man Group's" spectacular opening at The New London Theatre.

SOFTWARE UPGRADE KIT
PM1DV2K

  • A software kit that helps upgrade PM1D Version 1.x to PM1D Version 2.

  • A scene-memory of 1000 scenes can be utilized and data can be stored on PCMCIA cards. The system also comes with a serial port and a USB port, which can be connected to a PC, allowing for PC-based data creation or backups.

  • Has 8 built-in multi-effector systems of the best sound quality.

  • Offers Add-On Effects.

  • Comes with freely assignable 31-band 24 x GEQ for mono-input and mono-output. A basic PM1D Version 2 system consists of a CS1DV2 Control Surface (with an external PW1D Power Supply Unit), and a single equipment rack housing the 9-space DSP1DV2 or DSP1D-EXV2 Processing Engine and appropriate input/output frames loaded with the input and output modules your system requires.

ADD-ON EFFECTS Inside

Many of the latest and highest-grade effect programs have been added to the PM1D Version 2. Choose from three types of effects groups known as Add-On Effects, which have already become favorites with professionals thanks to their installation in the PM5D, the PM1Ds sister model, and the DM2000 Version 2, a much-praised production console. Add-On Effects include a recording-studio-grade compressor, a vintage EQ, and an effector that offers tape compression derived from open deck recording, as well as the Reverberator REV-X, which uses Yamahas exclusive new algorithms. Youll be able to master the use of these latest effects while using the PM1D Version 2.

Remote Control Support

This function, demanded by many venues, allows the PM1D to be remotely controlled from near the stage, even when it is placed in a relatively distant location such as a control booth. A computer running the PM1D Manager software, in conjunction with any of the DM2000, 02R96, or DM1000 compact digital mixers, can be used as a remote control device. Using a digital mixer that combines excellent portability with small size offers a new solution that can be flexibly applied to a wide variety of situations.PM1D parameters capable of remote control are Head Amp, GAIN, ATT, EQ, GATE, COMP, MIX SEND, FADER, ON, and SURROUND.

Automatic Gain Adjustment

When using PM1D for FOH (Front Of House) and Monitor in conjunction with an input device, even if the master PM1D, which has head amp control authority, changes the gain, the HA slave PM1D instantly and automatically maintains the level.

Load Filter / Save Filter

This function manages the PM1Ds internal memory more effectively. It supports loading and saving of determined PM1D parameters, as well as loading of selected parameters to determined memory areas and the saving of selected parameters as specified memory data.

Event List

The event list is now easier to use than ever. Until now only TIME CODE setting was possible, but with this new feature, scene memories that have been arranged in a particular order can be recalled by specified events either by INTERVAL TIME or MANUAL. Set the order of the scenes into an event list that you can change freely. This provides tremendous usability for venues including theaters.

Fader View

The newly installed Fader View displays the ON, FADER, and CUE for all input channels, all output channels, stereo channels, and DCA. 48 ch + 4 stereo + all DCA faders are viewable on a single screen, and the display can be switched between CH1-48, ST IN 1-4 and CH49-96, ST IN 5-8.

Auto Store Overwrite

Library Overwrite Mode can now be selected during Auto Store of scenes.

Insert / Delete Channel

The newly added function allows you to insert or delete the input and output channels. Channels in the inserted or deleted range can be picked up and shifted to the end. This also works with any of the Mix, Matrix, and Stereo channels.

Direct Out from Pre High Pass Filter

PreHPF has been added at the output point for the Direct Out signal. The inputted signal can be sent directly to a recorder. Plus, the Direct Out signal level can be adjusted from -8 to +10dB.

Assignable Functions Added to User Define

GEQ Select and Tap Tempo have been added as settable components with the User Define Key.

GR Meter Display

The Gain Reduction Meter is displayed for the Gate/Comp of all input channels and the Comp of all output channels.

Enhanced Factory Preset Memory &Additional Libraries

Engineers who know the PM1D inside-out have updated the factory preset scene memory for even greater practicality. Plus, input EQ and input CH libraries have been augmented to 200 from the previous 100.

Expanded Recall Safe Functions

An automatic Recall Safe function for UNIT settings has been added. This function can be used for units patched with channels set at Recall Safe.

Supports MY8-DA96 Card

Supports the MY8-DA96, which carries out DA conversion for 8 channels.
