BECTU's Kate Elliot commented:
"BECTU is very pleased to be working in partnership with Orbital to organise high quality sound training. This is going to directly benefit those taking part, allowing them to be more effective in their working lives. The recent two day course 'Sound Fundamentals' was very well received by delegates and all the feedback has been positive, particularly the standard of tuition by Simon Whitehorn. Simon was able to tailor his training to suit individual needs and levels of competence. Also singled out were the excellent training facilities at Orbital, and the fact that there is a clear progression route through sound training at all levels. BECTU strives to offer its membership ways in which to continue their professional development, and is keen to help those who work freelance to access high quality affordable training. We hope the partnership with Orbital will continue as well as it has started and that we will be able to work together in the near future."
Orbital's Chris Headlam added:
"We understand that working in the digital domain, technology changes at a very rapid pace. It's important to make those wishing to pursue a career in audio aware of the basics in this field. We're fortunate to not only have the latest equipment, but also the space and facilities to offer training. We annually co-host training with The National Theatre for drama students nationwide and we're now also looking forward to collaborating with BECTU on a similarly regular basis, providing essential application based training."
