Orbital's Sebastian Frost Nominated For a Tony Award

Theatre sound specialist Orbital Sound is delighted to announce its in-house designer and co-director, Sebastian Frost has recently been nominated for a Tony Award as the Sound Designer of Sunday in the Park with George.

Following its five Laurence Olivier wins in the West End, the Menier Chocolate Factory production of Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George looks set to repeat its awards success on Broadway, having received nine nominations in total including Best Revival of a musical and Best performance by a Leading Actor and Leading Actress.

Other nominations in the musical categories include: Direction (Sam Buntrock), Scenic Design (David Farley and Timothy Bird), Costume Design (David Farley), Lighting Design (Ken Billington) and Orchestrations (Jason Carr).

Orbital's Sebastian Frost commented: This is a great honour, particularly as it is the first time that the legendary Tony Awards have acknowledged sound design as a winning category within a musical genre. Sunday in the Park with George was simply great to work on and its success as a ground breaking production is well deserved.

Over the years the Tonys have celebrated excellence in theatre. The 62nd edition of these prestigious awards will be broadcast live on CBS on June 15th.
