Orbital introduce the Yamaha PM1D to the theatre industry

First in the digital revolution -

Central London based Orbital Sound who specialise in the supply, design and installation of audio systems into theatre and musical productions are delighted to add the first Yamaha PM1D - a revolutionary digital mixing console - ever supplied to the live performance industry.

The PM1D has been specified by Sound Designer Scott Myers for the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe making it's London debut at Sadlers Wells for the Christmas season.

As Scott Myers explained:

"I've had my eye on the PM1D for several years during its R&D, and was delighted to discover that Orbital's MD Chris Headlam had been involved with the development too. Orbital wanted to be the first hire company to acquire one so I was over the moon when Orbital's MD, Chris Headlam suggested matching me with the desk".

The PM1D has the potential to revolutionise sound design in theatre for complex sound effect plays as well as for musicals and allows Orbital to offer state of the art digital technology, which is increasingly necessary to realise the effect of sophisticated Theatre sound design.

There will be more news about PM1D and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on this site soon.
