Showcasing Audio Innovation at ABTT 2014

New arrivals from Flare Audio and d&b audiotechnik, the latest HME and Clear-Com wireless comms solutions, and the Nemesis playback and control range

Orbital Sound is planning a unique line-up of innovative international pro audio brands on Stand No: 74 at the ABTT Theatre Show 2014 (Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London, 11-12 June), featuring products from Flare Audio, d&b audiotechnik, HME, Clear-Com, CSC, and TheatrePro, as well as the launch of the Orbital's new distribution product range, the Nemesis brand of theatre-specific audio playback and control solutions.

In addition, we are presenting a special version of our acclaimed "Mixing Musicals" training course as part of ABTT's seminar series, focusing on the practical skills and theory behind best-practice FOH mixing for modern musicals.

As Flare Audio's distributor in the UK and Eire, Orbital is showcasing the brand's extensive range of radically different loudspeaker designs – on show at ABTT for the first time. Based on the theory of Waveform Integrity, Flare Audio's objective is to create sonically invisible loudspeakers that neither add nor detract from the clarity of sound produced by the driver. The X5A Vertical Point Source Array will be joined by two new additions to the X Series – the exciting X2A compact and X0A mini speakers, as well as Flare's new array configuration toolkit. Flare's powerful Q Series Directional Touring Bass and PLASA award-winning SB Series Flat Panel Bass speakers will be on show, together with models from the S1 Ultimate Reference Monitors and the V Series, designed for portable applications and installations.

Under the communications spotlight is the extensive range of Clear-Com and HME communication solutions, including the HelixNet™ digital wired system, the HME DX210, plus the FreeSpeak and Tempest digital wireless systems. Designed for intuitive, simplified user operation and management, HelixNet combines professional-grade intercom clarity with IP flexibility, while the FreeSpeak® system uniquely blends digital matrix technology with a locally distributed wireless "network", operating licence-free in the 1.8-1.9 GHz frequency band.

As a long-standing d&b audiotechnik UK Sales and Installation Partner, Orbital will be demonstrating the new high power high density D80 amplifier, designed for both mobile and installation applications. Also on the stand will be the d&b Remote Network, which provides central control of a wide range of mobile and installed applications plus large and/or distributed systems, effectively unlocking the full potential of the d&b system approach.

Widely deployed on West End and touring shows, the latest CSC Theatrical/Live Sound Show Control Software package enables extremely complex performances to be controlled seamlessly, tying together all aspects of live sound control and making it a highly popular choice with sound designers around the world.

The TheatrePro range of resilient miniature headworn microphones are specifically designed for theatre applications. The latest models include the E-60MP low profile earset microphone, featuring a unique hanger earpiece design and exceptional water-resistance due to the unique IP65 moisture and dust rating, and the L-45 lavalier microphone.

In addition to its sales activities, members of the Orbital team are on hand during the show to discuss theatre sound training, as well as its range of theatre sound hire and consultancy services – ranging from full system design and installation, to noise-at-work assessments and easiHire online rentals. Orbital's easiHire team will be handing out advice from Stand No: 46, demonstrating how the essential easiHire online portal can provide all the tools needed to put together a rental quotation. Designed for everyone from seasoned professionals to amateur dramatic and education users, it gives professional and non-professional users 24/7 access to information about a wide range of equipment options, backed up by comprehensive product information and detailed budget guides.
