Orbital invests in multiple Avid Venue S6L systems

42nd Street, Bat Out Of Hell, Wind In The Willows

As one of the companies that introduced Digidesign / Avid consoles into the theatre market over ten years ago Orbital Sound continues its alliance with the brand by investing into multiple Venue S6L systems capable of mixing up to 768 channels simultaneously! After over 2 years of careful research and background testing against other consoles, Orbital chose the Venue S6L as a major part of their ongoing control platform upgrade, largely due to its superb reliability, flexibility and sound quality.

The first of Orbital's fleet of Venue S6L consoles is being used on the current production of WIND IN THE WILLOWS, starring Rufus Hound adapted from the book by the prolific Julian Fellowes, which will make a triumphant grand entrance to London's Palladium Theatre in June 2017.

Next up for the Venue S6L will be Jim Steinman's epic rock and roll theatrical fantasy BAT OUT OF HELL THE MUSICAL, the inspiration for one of the most iconic and successful albums in history, is set to explode onto the Manchester Opera House and London Coliseum stages in 2017. An enormous musical production, with over 400 d&b audiotechnik loudspeakers destined to make an awful lot of noise in the vast 3-tier auditorium with its wealth of eclectic classical detail of Byzantine opulence.

Last and far from least is the new production of 42nd STREET, Broadway's biggest show on the West End's biggest stage, is the song and dance American dream fable of Broadway. Young Peggy Sawyer is fresh off the bus from small-town America and just another face in the chorus line on Broadway's newest show. 70 channels of Shure UR1M radio mics, supported by Orbital's RF savvy Tech Support Department, make it a massive mixing infrastructure, but easily within the S6L capabilities.
