When renowned theatre production manager James Henshaw took up his new appointment as Technical and Production Manager at the prestigious Bryanston School in the rolling Dorset countryside, he wasted no time in getting in touch with the sales team at Orbital Sound to assist in re-equipping the on-site theatre.

The Coade Hall - a 600 seat, brick-built theatre opened on 27th May 1966 by the Duke of Edinburgh and named after Thorold Coade, headmaster of Bryanston School from 1932 to 1959.

As a first stage and in line with James' plan to bring the theatre's technical facilities up to the highest standard. Orbital were tasked with providing two, six channel racks of wireless mic systems, packaged in a way that most in the theatre industry would find standard and able to be used as a single, twelve way system or two, six way independent systems.

James' plan is to enable the students using the various systems to come into contact with equipment that could be found in any professional theatre around the world should they choose, for instance, a career in the theatre or associated vocations.

Orbital designed two racks, each with six Sennheiser G3 wireless receivers and associated antenna distribution and remote, paddle antennas. The belt pack transmitters were housed in a 2U drawer in the rack with a custom foam cut-out to hold them and the supplied JTS CM-825iF headset microphones.

James commented 'I'm fully aware of Orbital's reputation in the theatre sound world and it was an obvious move to get them involved at Bryanston with the theatre upgrades. They provide the right level of equipment, within budget and packaged to a high standard such that the students here can learn about the technical side of theatre and become familiar with equipment that they will see out in the real world. We have 16 students involved on the technical team here at the theatre and it's important that they get the opportunities to use equipment like this to further their education.'
